Forty-nine eligible songs are in the running for Oscar nominations. List includes 11 tracks from "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" and three from "Repo! The Genetic Opera." To be eligible, a song must contain original words and music written specifically for the film.
This is great news for Repo! Let's hope at least one of the songs makes the cut for a nomination.....and then wins!

Hey everyone! I'm looking for suggestions for the site. I plan on taking some time soon to completely streamline Alexa Forever for both users and admins (yes admins, I'd like you to email me too or IM me).
Send your ideas to: site [at] alexa-vega.com (without the spaces and replace [at] with @) and let me know what you'd like to see, what you don't want to see, or just to let me know your out there!
I look forward to reading what you guys have to say :)

1:30 AM - Right about this time last night, I was shaking Darren Lynn Bousman's hand at the Music Box Theatre in Chicago, IL. It was a 3 hour drive for me (as well as a $60 parking ticket), to see the movie but it was more than worth it, and here's why.
Repo! The Genetic Opera is, well, a rock opera, and one of few at that. It ventures into territory that very few movies have gone before and succeeds greatly. The songs are well scored and almost always very natural. There are a few parts where talking may have been better than singing, but they're overshadowed by the many amazingly well done songs in the movie. Alexa Vega, Anthony Stewart Head, Sarah Brightman, Paul Sorvino, Bill Moseley, Ogre, Terrance Zdunich and even Paris Hilton come together to make every song work beautifully. I will be purchasing the full soundtrack to be released in January.
The visuals and acting are perfect. The movie looks amazing and that only compliments all the actors and actresses performances. Everyone was perfectly cast from Alexa Vega, playing Shilo Wallace, the sheltered daughter of Nathan Wallace, the Dr./Repo Man (which he pulled off flawlessly). Sarah Brightman looked and sounded amazing as Blind Mag while Paul Sorvino played a perfect Rotti Largo. Bill Moseley, Ogre and Paris Hilton were awesome as his 3 disappointing children. Terrance Zdunich was one of the best, fitting the Graverobber role perfectly as well as drawing the comic book-esk images for the film (not to mention being one of the minds behind Repo!)
When all was said and done, Repo! The Genetic Opera definitely deserved it's spot in my Top 3 Favorite films, and I'll be one of the first in line to purchase the DVD early next year.

Alexa is currently in Utah filming her latest movie "The Mine". Check out this article at heraldextra.com. There isn't really a full description yet but, it does have this bit of info:
The film is not your typical slasher-type horror film but is targeted to a younger audience similar to the Goosebumps movies.
